Terms of Service
The deal between CiteMy and the businesses it works for, and the rules for anyone using the free tools. Month to month, no contract.
Effective Oct 2, 2026
The agreement
These terms are between CiteMy and the business that signs up ("you"). By submitting a form, paying, or using the portal or the free tools, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you can bind it. CiteMy is for businesses, not consumers.
The service
CiteMy is a done-for-you monthly service, not software. What a client gets each month, how often, and where it shows up is on our services page. We may improve or change how we do the work; if we remove something the services page lists, we tell you first.
Fees and billing
The price is on our pricing page, billed monthly in advance in US dollars through Stripe. Taxes, if any, are yours. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it; if it still fails, the subscription ends and the work stops. We tell you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect for you.
Month to month, cancel any time
There is no contract and no minimum term. Cancel any time in your billing portal or by emailing us. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for; you keep the service until then, and we do not charge you again. We do not refund partial months, except as the next section says. Everything we built on your site stays there.
One client per city and trade
We take one client per territory: one city and one trade. While you are a client in good standing, we do not take on another business in the same trade in your city. The territory is yours for as long as you stay, and it opens again when you leave.
If you pay before we have confirmed your territory and it turns out to be taken, we cancel your subscription and refund the payment in full.
Exclusivity covers our paid service only. Our public research and index measure every business the same way, and other businesses can use the free audit and free tools.
Approvals
Nothing goes live on your website until you approve it, and every change is logged. Review replies on your Google Business Profile post only after you approve them, or after we approve one at your direction. Business Profile posts, photos, and service updates are drafted from facts and photos you gave us and reviewed by our team before they post. Content we publish names a real person on your team as its author, and that person reviews it first.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate facts: prices, specs, licenses, warranties, service areas. Our work publishes what you tell us, and you are responsible for its accuracy.
- Only send us photos, logos, and content you own or have the right to use, and let us use them to do the work.
- Grant the access we need (your website, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics) and keep it working. Where access is missing, that part of the work waits.
- Review drafts and approvals within a reasonable time.
Our access to your accounts
We use the access you grant (WordPress or another site login, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics) only to perform the service, and we store every password and token encrypted. You can remove our access at any time; when you leave, we stop using it and delete what we stored. How we handle Google data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Who owns what
You own the content, datasets, structured data, and llms.txt we publish for you on your domain, and you keep them if you leave. You keep ownership of everything you give us, and grant us a license to use it to provide the service.
CiteMy keeps its methods, software, prompts, panels, measurement data, reports' design, and tools, and anything we build that is not specific to your business. Our measurements of AI answers are our data.
No guarantee of rankings or AI mentions
We sell the work and the measurement: datasets live, content published, listings fixed, citations and rankings tracked. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google decide what they show, and they change. We do not guarantee any ranking, citation, mention, recommendation, lead, or revenue. Results describe what was measured, not a promise of ranking.
Measurement data and the public index
Every week we ask the AI engines the questions homeowners ask and record which businesses they name, cite, and recommend. We may publish this as neutral, aggregate research and datasets that name businesses by name, client or not, counted the same way. Being a client never changes how a business is counted or shown. We never publish a client's private data, such as account details, analytics, or unpublished facts.
The free tools and free audit
The free audit and free tools are provided as is, at no charge. Use them on websites you own or have a legitimate reason to check. Do not use them to overload a site, get around their rate limits, scrape them in bulk, or test sites you have no right to. We may limit or block use that looks like abuse.
Limitation of liability
Apart from what these terms promise, the service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. CiteMy's total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify CiteMy against third-party claims arising from the facts, photos, or content you provide, or from your breach of these terms. We will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that content we created for you, other than what you provided, infringes someone's rights.
Ending the service
You can end the service any time by cancelling. We can end it for nonpayment, for a serious breach of these terms that is not fixed within 10 days of notice, or with 30 days' notice for any reason, refunding any time you paid for and did not get. When the service ends, we stop work, remove our access, and leave everything we published on your site in place.
Governing law
Arizona law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, and both sides agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes and the rest
We may update these terms; we post the new version here with a new effective date and email clients about any material change at least 30 days before it applies to them. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. These terms, the pricing and services pages, and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement.
